1st GAY PARADE IN MARINGÁ (Paraná state)

 

On 20 of May Brazilian city Maringá organized 1st gay parade that was visited by almost 8 000 people, according to local journalists! Not bad for a 1st time!

Around 40 groups participated in the event from different cities (Sao Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina states).

The Parade recieved a positive feedback from participants and organizers already marked a next date - 19.05.2013.

THE BIGGEST WINTER FESTIVAL IN SANTA CATARINA

Coming up next, the biggest winter festival from Santa Catarina (SC) state. It goes from  01 till 10 of june in the city named Lages (located in the middle-west from state).

First of all, because you are going to face with a different culture that belongs to the same country. People of middle-west are also very friendly and they speak with different accent from the ones on the coast. Once you meet them, they will probably invite you to try a typical Brazilian hot tea called chimarrão. About the taste? I’ll let you find out!

For those who come by plane, you must take a flight till Florianópolis (capital of SC) and drive for about 4 hours to get there. Don’t worry, is far from being a boring trip, you must take one of the national roads that connect the coast with the western part of the state.  There is a wonderful landscape to take pictures during the whole trip. Remember, Lages it is approximately 1000 meters above the sea, so take warm cloths, because it can became very chilly at night.

This party was created on the 70^th decade with the goal of preserving the culture of the small fruit called pinhão, since that epoch it has a big influence for the region economy and culture. Nowadays this festival receives thousands of tourists who come from all over the country every year to eat this fruit, drink quentão – traditional winter beverage made of hot wine and cinnamon), watch south typical dance presentations and enjoy local and national music bands.

CITY WITH THE HIGHEST QUALITY OF LIFE IN BRAZIL
